The Bowden cables are disconnected. I've got the tech manual (page in thumbnails) detailing how to do it. Removing the adjustment bolt and aligning everything, you can see I need about 1/4" more adjustment.

Many thanks if you have the time. The first step in removal of parts, is to remove both pins holding the shift rods to the quadrants. Then use an adjustable wrench to hold the flats on the shaft#23 to screw it out. You will need to have another adjustable wrench or a 15/16" wrench to hold nut #1 under the dash.
